Subject: MU end doors
"3331_Rail_Data_coll_711.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1314x869 (24bit)

Hi folks,

This is something I just noticed on the EL MU cars...

The end doors are different on the different classes!

The 3200-series high-roof trailers and 3400-series combines have single
panel doors with paired rectangular windows and a lower indented panel.

The 3300/4300-series high-roof trailers and 3450-series subscription cars
have double-panel doors (looks like they have a vertical hinge running the
entire length of the door ) with paired rectangular windows and a pair of
lower indented panels.

The 3500/4600-series power cars had doors similar to the 3200- and
3400-series cars originally, but many were replaced with single large window
plain solid door. (anyone know why?)

I had never noticed it before, and thought I might share. Now to look at the
Overland MUs and see what doors THEY have! :)
