Hi Todd,

Not sure there was ever any other interlocking towers in the area other
than crossing gate shanties for street grade crossings. Looking at
Sanborn maps the only places where the NYC and DL&W crossed are at the
west end of the Geddes St. yards. I have included a pieced together 1950
Sanborn map similar to the one Henry posted a few days ago showing both
diamonds the tower protected and the physical position of the original
tower to the new tower. The two towers were not very far from each
other. I believe the diamond Walt Smith referred to in his "Bad day at
Syracuse Engine House" story was the second diamond where the DL&W
Fayette St. Yard lead crossed the NYC Auburn Branch line (circled
diamond on the far left).
