Here's a map (also from the Steamtown collection) of that location at
the yellow "39/40" in a circle from 1918.

From the archives at Steamtown the following letter appears:
Kingston Borough Council

Kingston, Pa., March 7, 1951

Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad Co.
Scranton, Pennsylvania

Att: Mr. Gomer Morgan

Dear Mr. Morgan:

Under date of February 23, 1951, the General Cigar Company has requested
Kingston Borough Council to order the Railroad Co. to install some sort
of caution signal or warning lights at the point where the D, L, & W R R
Co. tracks cross Division Street at grade.

Will you please request and investigation to be made to ascertain the
need of signals or warning lights at this crossing? When such report is
available may we please have a copy for the files of Kingston Borough?

Since the General Cigar Co. at present is employing approximately 350
persons, there is considerably more traffic at the Division St. grade
crossing than ever before. It is hoped that some sort of preventive
measures can be taken to avoid accidents at that point

Respectfully yours,
Borough of Kingston

J S Weiss
Secretary
