Mr. Graf:

This is great news! Kudos to you and your team at Atlas for endeavoring to
please a more prototypically-oriented group of customers.

For those wondering, if it is what I think it is, the side sill issue that
Mr. Graf is referring to is one that will require a few stabs with a
chisel-type blade to address (in a nutshell, on the Erie '32 ARA boxcars,
the side sill on either side of the door did not extend out to the second
stringer, so a second 'tooth' appears to either side of the door). It should
be an easy fix, and one that I can cover in a future installment of From the
Workbench.

In the meantime I have drawn on a copy of the photo that Mr. Dukarm posted,
outlining the area that will have to be removed (in red) from the Atlas
model (it will also have to be removed from the right side of the door).

Thanks again;

Jim Harr

The Buckeye end will be (actually the tooling already is) done.? The Erie
was the only road that had the Buckeye end.? There will be one slight
compromise made for the Erie car, and that is the side sill will not be an
exact match to the prototype.

Production of the cars is being grouped by common components - so when cars
with Viking roofs are done, the Erie will likely be included.? I sent the
link of the photo to our R&D guys, and I have already seen our artist
working on the artwork for the Erie car.
