There were many grade compensation projects between 1909 and today, but the
moral of the story is that the elevation at Stroudsburg, Tobyhanna and
Scranton is the same. Well, sort of. I've watched the top of the mountain
grow on track charts over a hundred years from 1,967 to 1,970 feet.
Dropping a lot of ballast will do that I guess.

Hello,

I am trying to find what are the grades on the former DL&W between
Slateford JCT and downtown Scranton. Does anyone have access to a DL&W System
Profile or track chart, and/or know what are the grades and, if so, would you
be willing to provide this information to me please?

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Walter Conklin
