"ERIE_RR_Booklet.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1216x896 (24bit)

Rooting thru stuff in the front room, I ran across a hardcover 6 x 7 & 1/2 " album of what appear to be pen & ink drawings of scenes along the ROW of the old ERIE. The cover is green and it appears to be around 1880 or so. It was with a NY, NH, & H RR local TT for 1889 & a HOUSATONIC RAILROAD TT of 1889, so this may date it. First picture in the book shows the NY, LE, & W depot on Chambers St., in New York. Background has sailing ships & a sidewheeler near the station dock (perhaps this is one of 'Admiral' Jim Fisk's Fall River liners). It's wierd to hold something that perhaps was done by the direction of Jay Gould.
Also found was a Grand Trunk Ry TT of January 1889. The back page of this TT had an ad in FRAKTUR - as follows - Die Haupt-Office biejer Gesellschaft
- fur -

EUROPAISCHE AUSWANDERER

I guess this had something to do with attracting immigrants from Deutchesland now that the Indians had been subdued.

I'm going to scan the ERIE booklet & send it as an attachment.
