Ed and all,

I was living in Morristown at the time of the 10 November 1966 wreck of NY98
on the Boonton line at Towaco, NJ. At the age of 17, I was able to drive,
but not having a car of my own, my father drove me to the wreck site. I
seem to recall that the spilled contents of one of the box cars was dog
food, but that could be incorrect.

The photos I took at the time are posted to the EL List. In 1966, no one
was bothered about a 17 year-old climbing all around to get shots of the
wreck and the subsequent construction of the shoe-fly. The shoe-fly was
routed over the un-used bridge - a handy relic of the double-track line.
