Maybe this will help. Its a photo by Ed Griffith taken in the late '40s or early '50s when he was a teenager. The K-5a has been downgraded to commuter service by this time. But it is a good color photo that shold be of some help with regard to painting a model. Please use this for your personal use only.

I think it depends on the time frame that the locomotive is being painted
for.
