Here's a great example of the Conrail influence on former EL territory, it's April 28th and Conrail has just turned 1year old. Train CS-9 is dispatched from Croxton at around 2:30 pm as "KW" notified "DB" on 161.400 he was on his way up the New Loop. A ten minute bike ride and a twenty minute wait CS-9 arrives at Great Notch with a lash-up of RDG GP-35 3637, CNW GP-30 819, RDG GP-35 36??, PC GP-40, EL GP-7 1231, LV GP-9 300. Plus the Silver Lake Drill's EL switcher shoving on the rear as a pusher!
The freight paused in Lincoln Park so the first two units (3637 and 819) that turned out to be helpers also, could cut off and run light back to Croxton light.

Three crews to move CS-9 up the grade through Montclair! Bet the EL crew missed their SD's and U-Boats.
