Here's a few blurry old snapshots I have of EL #801 going through Addison NY in 1975. Two things come to mind...

One, it sure looks like it probably has a grey roof because I don't see any black wrapping over the edge.

Two, apparently not all the ex-EMD demos had the ratchet brake lever on the nose. The 801 had a brake wheel at the end of the long hood like all the others.
