Subject: Stillwell information - looking for a car number
"CVRHS_Erie_Stillwell_coach_August_23_2009_006.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1600x1200 (24bit)

The Chemung Valley Railway Historical Society has arch windowed Stillwell coach that was MOW #475017. We can't find an original number for the car - can anyone help?

We gave it a number - 2387 for now, but would like to find the correct number. #475018 was the companion car that was burned in Binghamton in 1995. Would be curious to know that car's number as well.

Quoting Jay W:

Do you or anyone else have information on what the original car number was, or failing that, the MOW number?

The Stilwell in the R&GV collection arrived with the number 474006.

Mike Oravec provided the following information:

This information should be correct. Your Stillwell was originally 2103
built by Pressed Steel Car Co. (7-23-24). It was renumbered as camp car
074006 (4-12-50). This was later changed to 474006 (3-21-52) when Erie
revised their numbering system for work equipment.
