Joe,

Those are some great photos. The center-beams, etc, are a much needed
addition for an accurate underbody and to eliminate the "see-through". Did
you also get photos of the trucks (they look like Stllwell trucks) and the
vestibule interiors? The "distant" photos I have show some brake-rods (?) on
top of the trucks, and I want to model the brake-levers and railings in the
vestibules. Is the Erie Susquehanna depot car an 11 window?

There are some more underbody shots at the below link. They are of a 12
window car.

http://www.railfan.net/cgi-bin/listthumb.cgi?/lists/erielack-photo/erielack-06-28-01

The F&C HO car was designed from the July 1968, RMC article, and has 11
arched-windows with Stillwell trucks, and measures, 69 feet - 9 inches, over
the basic-body length. (Got to check if I read that the actual length over
buffers was 72' - 8".) The center-sill is a low-profile "T-section". I built
moveable buffers using Kadee coupler springs for close-coupling. I've
attached 3 photos showing that. (So far)

I guess I'll have to completely remake the F&C end-steps. They have 3 steps
up to the end-platform-deck, and all the proto-photos show 4. The 3 steps
measure about a 12 inch vertical-rise, where a "real" step-riser is more
like 8 inches. This would be more correct for 4 steps. Although, I have one
distant photo which looks like there were only 3 steps. (Pretty high for
grandma to climb up, or anybody.)

I was intending to paint them a lightly weathered Pullman Green, but the
added brown might give them that "special" tint that I remember too, (from
50 years ago).

I remember the C&WI / Ex-ERIE Stillwell seats as having a "wicker" type of
material over-all covering, light-brown in color.
