"es-station_resize.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1024x768 (24bit)

Got to my PC for a few minutes this afternoon (I'm down with the flu, BOO!)
to post some pictures...

My family and I had to stop by East Stroudsburg yesterday so my wife could
pick up something at her alma mater, East Stroudsburg University. We had to
make the obligatory stop at the station - I've attached a photo of the
signal bridge that still stands just to the west of the tower, and... the
restored station! It appears that all the exterior work is done, but I
didn't look to see what the inside looked like. The "big monstrosity" that's
standing where the station once was is now up and running - it looks like
two stories of apartments on the top level, and a new restaurant/bar on the
bottom level. "Ugh." :)

After visiting the outlet stores in Tannersville, we headed home, and much
to my surprise we happened to catch and parallel Delaware-Lackawanna freight
PT-98 through the Delaware Water Gap. I only got a few glances of it
(Interstate 80 is quite curvy here, gotta keep those eyes on the road) - I
could see it was led by former GECX M630 #3000 and one of the D-L's two GMY
former EL C425s, and it has a string of 6-7 cars trailing (mostly empty
lumber cars). It felt like I was watching the EL through the gap! A
wonderful way to end the day.
