DL&W Phoebe Snow Diner 469 is Coming Home!

After nearly two years of work, fund raising, and working through the
people at NS, diner 469 was pulled out of the Collierville, TN siding last
Thursday, ending its nearly 18 year "retirement" there and is moving
towards the Delaware-Lackawanna interchange at Slateford Jct, PA.

The car is in excellent physical and mechanical condition, and once in
Scranton will soon become our first dining car to enter service. To help
raise the funds needed to get the car painted and operational, we are
selling reproductions of the famous Phoebe Snow pattern china used on the
car. We have also started the DL&W 469 Club, a special fundraising program
for premium donations. Visit the Diner 469 page more more information:
http://www.eldcps.org/pages/equip_469.html We can certainly use your
volunteer labor as well. We will need to give the car a good cleaning
inside and out. Please email me if you would like to help.

For more information on the prep work done before moving the car please
visit our members' blog: http://www.eldcps.org/members/ (Note you must be a
member to access the blog) I have attached a few photos here as well.

Diners 741 and 770 are 99% ready to be moved from Kansas City. Once Diner
469 has safely arrived in Scranton we will start of process of getting them
moving as well. Once 469 is in service we will turn our attention towards
completing the restoration of Diner 741. Diner 770 will be stored for
future restoration.

As always I thank everyone for their support. We look forward to returning
469 to its as-delivered appearance and recreating the experience of dinner
in the diner on the Erie, DL&W and EL.
