Subject: The Bob Bahrs memorial DL&W MOW truck!
"dlw-truck.jpg" - image/jpeg, 139468 bytes, 1024x768 (24bit)

Well, I finally got around to lettering up the HO scale Busch 57
Chevrolet that I have. First off, all credit for the beautiful paint job
goes to Tom Schmieder, who painted this truck. I just decaled the
letters! :)

Attached are the photos, sitting on my kitchen table (one without flash,
one with). Compare with Bob Bahrs' recreation of a DL&W truck at:
http://el-list.railfan.net/archives/rb-dlw2.jpg

Those who sent in their SSAE's will be getting theirs shortly (they're
going out in tomorrow's mail). PLEASE BE WARNED: The decal sheet may
look blank, but trust me, it's not! The white is hard to see on the
background, and the overcoat of Floquil Dull makes it even harder. I
included printed sheets (black text) to show exactly how the lettering
appears on the sheets. Three tips that might make it easier:

1) Use a magic marker to soak the back of the sheet with a contrasting
color.
2) Hold the sheet up to the light at an angle (makes it easier to see)
3) Just soak the whole sheet in water, and slide it off onto a dark,
smooth cutting surface. The white will be easy to see then! :)

Enjoy! Sorry, you can see the edges of the decal slightly - haven't
sprayed an overcoat on. I have yet to determine if the DL&W trucks were
glossy or flat! ;)

- Paul
