Hi David,

The footboards on the ends were black (as were the pilots and stepwells), and they were edged with yellow (as were each of the steps in the stepwells)

The walkway surfaces were all gray, though the gray didn't stay clean long, and dirty work boots put dirt and grime on the walkways, quickly giving them a mottled black appearance. For a new unit, use gray. For a weathered unit, dry-brush some "grimy black" onto the walkways, roughly in a pattern where crew members would walk. You also need to remember that engine exhaust settled down on these surfaces, as well as any dripping oil from the hood, adding to the black.
