RD***Before new regs are instituted by the IRS, they are published in the
Federal Register and input is requested from all stakeholders. Public
hearings are indeed held in Washington, and some are lengthy. A taxpayer
taking a deduction on their individual tax return is not the same as
promogating Federal Regulations that affect all taxpayers and carry the
weight of law. Your comparison doesn't hold. RD

RD***I have official figures from 1922 to 1932 from the Buffalo dumper and
they don't line up with yours, although they are close. Mine are in net tons
and yours long tons. (see attached official report dated Jan 10, 1931) RD

RD***My information shows the Erie pier burned 6-24-31. See attached
telegram to DL&W requesting Erie to use DL&W dumper, not LV. RD
