Two years ago some of you contacted me as to the fate of the Milwaukee RR observation cars (see attached) that were stored on the deck of LANSDOWNE, which had been towed to Buffalo. I and another member of the WNYRHS viewed the cars to make a determination if they could be saved. The LANSDOWNE at the time was docked for scraping at the old ERIE RR Union Drydock (EL content - see my article in the DIAMOND)), and this was my first time on the property.

To make a long story short, it was reported yesterday in the Buffalo News that the cars indeed had been saved and were sucessfully removed from the boat. They will be donated (sold?) to the Illinois Railroad Museum.
