"Dansville_Depot_Bag_Cart_Kids_small.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1194x909 (24bit)

A few years back I found a b&w photo on the Net of the Phoebe Snow pulling
out of my hometown depot Dansville, NY circa 1956,AND to my astonishment
that 9 year old boy on the baggage cart is me signaling with my hand
sitting on the baggage cart with my buds. I was able to get permission to
copy it and my son Charlie
Monte Verde got a huge copy of it framed for me for Christmas and it now
hangs in my office. A couple of years later I went back to 're-create the
photo, notice the hillside in the distance that and me is the only thing
that remains from this photo!

The train sitting in the station waiting to be worked (as #6 The Phoebe Snow
departs) is the Owl #15 pictured arriving Dansville (east of the depot) with
an F3 & E8 combo, with heavy storage mail-box cars making it almost look
like a freight with the passenger F3 and the E8 hiding behind it! Chip
Walker took the 'after shot' in 2013 from just about the same location.
Notice the cut-closed Depot Road to the left of the F3 and the dead crossing
case for the wig-wag signal that used to protect the crossing, and the east
end of the depot platform.
