"dlw-estwr-aca1984.jpg" - image/jpeg, 800x459 (24bit)

Kendrick Bisset is one of the main cogs in the East Stroudsburg Tower
Organization, that has saved, preserved and continues to maintain and upgrade
the only remaining Lackawanna wooden tower. He has a back ground in
signaling and has been meticulously restoring the CTC machine that remained in the
tower right up to it's closing. He has shared a few photo's with me of
his work, and when asked it he wanted it posted he said sure. He is looking
for any additional photo's of Stroudsburg both interior and exterior that
any of our list members may have, especially back in the towers working days.
His email address is: _kendrick@kendrickbisset.com_
(mailto:kendrick@kendrickbisset.com)

I hope this post reaches some people that can contribute.

Thanks
Bob Bahrs

Bob:

I think it would be good if you posted it now ... it has taken a long time
to get this far, and who knows how long it will be to finish.

I attach a small version of one of your pictures which I used in
re-creating the panel, if you want to post that as well.

I also attach a picture I found somewhere on the web, but cannot find
again. I would like permission of the owner to use this photo in the book of
photos we have on display in the tower. It is significant in that it shows
the track re-aligned when the restaurant was opened, but the interlocking is
apparently still in service. Would you have any idea whose picture this is,
and how to contact him (or her)? The only information I have is in the
file name.

When you post to the EL list, could you include my email, and ask for
any other pictures of
Stoudsburg, especially the interior?

The panel itself is unusual, in that it is not the etched aluminum commonly
used. My theory (and a theory
only) is that the Lackawanna was really hurting for money after the
flood of 1955, so they simply put a
paper overlay over the old model board. The overlay may have been a
reverse blueprint. There may have
been clear plastic over the paper. If anyone knows more, information
would be appreciated.

restore the CTC machine in the tower at (East) Stoudsburg. I used your
pictures to re-create the model board, and installed (or tried to) it today. As
you can see, I need to work on the two switch heater indicators, and the
lens colors are not correct, but a good part of the work is done. We also
still need to replace some of the levers, but those are on hand.
