A brief review, this car just came out:

Athearn recently started painting up its newly-purchased line of former
Details West boxcars in varied schemes. One of the schemes it did (see
attached photo) was EL. This car was painted up as EL 68513, one of 100
cars (68500-68599) purchased by the EL in 1964.

For the most part, this car compares nicely to the EL prototype (see
this photo on George Elwood's site for comparison:
http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/el/frt/el68560alb.jpg)
The lettering is crisp, and better yet, correct! The only notably
discrepancy is that the EL car had the full length ladder on the right
(and I don't think they were cut down until CR, but I could be wrong).
Otherwise, the car looks fairly good.

The Athearn car is pre-assembled, ready-to-run, and features
Kadee-compatible couplers and metal wheelsets, a nice plus. The cars
look very nice, and are reasonably priced for a car with this level of
detail.

Rumor has it that Athearn will be re-releasing the blue EL 50' plug door
General Foods service cars, too!
