This morning 5-13-2014 the 664A, 664B and 663A were mated together for the first time, and in sunshine. Robert Staely lensed the three-some just before a pair of Delaware-Lackawanna RS3s coupled to 663 to take them east to Portland. They were quite a sight. A hearty congratulations are due to all of the many people to helped or contributed in any way. Thank you, everyone.

The A-B-A set are in Allentown waiting for the arrival of the Reading F7 284 from Boonton and the Erie 833 from Port Jervis. Once together, and NS power move will take the cab units to Harrisburg where they plan to meet New Haven FL9 2019 and the two PanAm Railways F-units. Once together, an NS locomotive will take all of them to Spencer.

These are quite a site. Compare them to the 1948 builder's photo. A dream is realized. Superintendent Kip Hagan, the man who permitted the F3s to come to Scranton, would have loved to have seen this had he not passed a few months ago. Project pioneers such as Jim Boyd in 2011, Ross Chapin in 2008(?), Ben Friedland in 1999 and Mike Miterko in the early 1990s are smiling from above.

There is still a ways to go -- everyone will hear more in the near future -- but the paint sure looks great.

Thanks again, everyone.
