Here is a comparison of the Gllor Craft car and the EL Freight Car Diagram book:

Rail head to bottom edge of side: Book - 2'10"; Model - 2'10".
Rail head to eave: Book - 10' 8 7/8"; Model - 11'0"
therefore, bottom edge of side to eave: Book - 7' 10 7/8"; Model - 8' 2".

Difference: 3 1/8" scale; .065" actual.

Window placement would make it look different. I think the window castings are a little too tal. Doing it again, I would plsace the bottom of the window about at the centerline of the side, and hide the excess height with the shade castings.

As it stands now, I have a bright red Erie wood caboose for the end of a freight train; I am happy.

Picture may be attached, if the gremlins permit.
