Those are two single stage air pumps . There are
also what are called cross-compound pumps which have
an alternating High pressure and low pressure side
which looks like those mated up with one being upside
down. This is also not to be confused with a Elesco
Feedwater pump which looks simular to the untrained
eye. Attached is a shot I just while up with the 2816.
Under the number on the left is the bottom of a
cross-compound air pump and on the right is an Elesco
Waterpump. Without the brass plate on they look a lot
closer to each other.
