I love maps, and old aerial photograph (read Penn Pilot).



A few weeks ago the conversation come up about as to where exactly
Henryville was on the DL&W while we were hi-railing the Pocono Main.
Behold! At one time there was a grade crossing south of the Browns Hill
Crossing; you can see where it is today, kind of, but the road doesn't cross
the tracks anymore of course. The view below is from Penn Pilot in May
1939; the old crossing is clear here as is the station buildings just south
of the crossing.


View from 1908; you can just see the crossbucks for the crossing to the
north of the station (photo from the internet):

Here's the view today; the marking from Google Earth has it about spot on!
Note, the location of the signal tower is the same just north of the
crossing.
