The "bubble" car was one-of-a-kind. It was former MU combine #3408 that they retrofitted with an arched Lexan window over its
baggage section. as well as a large new light package on the baggage end of the car. Apparently, it was used for catenary inspection
when NJT extended electrification to Long Branch on the former NY&LB, and later returned to the former EL electrified lines, serving
as a catenary inspection car. Somewhere along the line, they restored it to original Pullman Green paint, but retaining the dome and
fancy light package.

I photographed it at Hoboken when I was in college around 1990. Oddly, it had an NJT logo on the non-baggage end and a large number
"9999" (but still with 3408 on the side?)

It's scrapped today :(
