With the nose of the engine dark, it looks to be a morning westbound and
that would seem to indicate Train 47. This train ran well ahead of Number 3
and made many stops over the Poconos that Number 3 skipped. Employee TT 109
dated April 1956 shows this train stopping in Boonton at 7:18 AM

I rode this train in Feb 1960 from Hoboken to Dover where I then boarded
Number 3 for my first trip to Scranton. The attached shot was taken from the
rear platform while the train waited in Boonton until the head-end work was
done.
