Subject: The disappearing Great Notch boxcar...

Hi folks,

I had posted a photo of Great Notch, NJ yesterday, showing the station and two trains. In that picture, there is nothing west of the station, just empty land. The attached picture, taken four years earlier, shows a wooden boxcar off its trucks just west of the station, used (I assume) for maintenance. I seem to remember this was a former LV boxcar. Does anyone know what happened to it?

And maybe I'm going crazy, but I thought there was a boxcar there in early NJT days? Am I mistaken? Was this a different car?

- Paul
