Subject: Pushers on Train Number 3 at Denville on a brutal day
"Denville_Train3_Jan61.jpg" - image/jpeg, 915x947 (256c)

The accompanying pictures were taken by George MacLean, a friend of mine
from many years ago. George passed away more then 20 years ago and I was
able to buy two of his albums from his widow. George lived near the Denville
Station and was one of many fans to congregate there in the 50's and 60's. I
probably met him in 1960 or thereabouts. In fact as you will see, he lived
close enough that he was able to walk there no matter what the weather which
is what he did on this brutal day.

George had a very good habit of taking good notes on each and every shot and
then transcribing these notes to the album. I present the captions exactly
as he wrote them.

"DL&W #811 on #3 west at 2:40PM Denville, N.J. 3 Pushers on rear 1/20/61"

"Pusher on #3 west Denville, NJ 1/20/61"

By this time, it was EL of course. Number 3 was the westbound Phoebe Snow
which on this brutal day was running about three hours late. But running it
was. I was told at a later date that the pushers were FT units.
