Erik,

From the www.northernfield.info site, the West End operation was serviced
mainly by the PRR, but also the CRRNJ and NYO&W in some years. Have some
maps and a photo up on the site as well. Attaching the better of the two
maps here. Think the bridge answers your question on how the DL&W had
access.

Hope that helps
Frank

Subject: (erielack) Shickshinny Bloom Questions

Hi everyone,

I am looking for drawings and photos of the station located at Shickshinny
on the Bloomsburg Branch. My grandmother grew up just two streets over from
the station. I have a photo from the early 70's that my dad took of the
station. I would like to build a model of this station in HO scale. But need
photos of all 4 sides. So that I can get the layout of the station.
Also dose anyone know where I might be able to find a Sanborn map for
Shickshinny? One last question I have is. During a recent Internet search,
I found that the West End Coal Mine across the river in Mocanaqua shipped
several car loads a year via the DL&W. How did the coal get to the DL&W? I
know Mocanaqua is a PRR town. I am fascinated with this area being my
grandparents grew up across the river from each other and two major
railroads went right through booth towns.

Thanks in advance for any help
