NORTHERN RAILROADS IN THE CIVIL WAR 1861-1865 by Thomas Weber
Indiana University presscopyright 1952 & reprinted in 1970, this book is
interesting to us acct of all the info on the ERIE & especially the west end.
I worked there but wondered why NYPANO docks in Cleveland had that
name....simple The NY Pa & Ohio RR. Salamanca....a Spanish nobleman/financier
put up money for construction. (Chapter 2). Lots of good stuff.
318 pgs...softcover

And now, a foto from MY early days on the Syracuse Division posing by engine
1272.
Note the truck, cars & pedestrians marked on the side of the engine. Just
like the Air Force....The RFE was upset.
Regards,
Walt Smith
