Subject: A work in progress
"IMG_8300.jpg" - image/jpeg, 2000x1333 (24bit)

It's always a *work in progress*. Some time it's out doors, and some
times it's indoors. Sunday was the latter. East Secaucus Tower opened May
3, 1905. It closed on Wednesday June 11, 1947. That evening for the first
time in 42 years the tower lay silent, and abandon. Two old friends
aware of this happening stopped by that evening, and rescued the tower
board. For the past 67 years, 25 more than it was in service, it has sat
in storage. Two years ago I purchased it, but once again, because of its
size, it simply made a one way trip to the shed.

A concerted effort to clean out the shed this past weekend brought it to my
attention once again. With a lot of determination it was *not* put back in,
but gently carried to the house. With NO wall space left, I wasn't sure
where it was going to go, but if some photo's or other artifacts had to
come down, so be it! Arrival at the bottom of the cellar steps, with tape
measure in hand, brought about some good news. Removing one hanging Alco
Print, would yield a decent spot near the bottom of the steps.

Hanging mode production commenced around 3 PM. Stud finders and the
associated original screw holes started to come together. I commandeered
a neighbor to hold it while all holes were marked out, and then it was off
to the hardware store. Ten dollars worth of Brass screws, enhanced brass
washers, and nylon backing washers were had just before Denville Hardware
closed. I typed out a short history of the board and my future wishes, and
adhered it the back. Stef and the Grand Kids arrived back home just in time
for me to hold it, and her to get the first two screws in place. In another
10 minutes the 107 year old East Secaucus Tower Board was hanging for the
firsts time in the last 67 years. It's 100% the way it looked in 1947
including the wood frame, and glass.

*It was a good day. I can now walk around in my shed* and the hanging
spurred me into taking a few photo's. See the attached, included another
near by work in progress, that is now hot wired into my cellar stairs
light. :)

PS Look for an out door work in progress before the leafs fall.
