Subject: Pocono Summit Tower-interesting stuff! (fwd)
"DL_W_X_Tower_Pocono_Summit.jpg" - image/jpeg, 486x681 (24bit)

Interesting set of photos-attached!!! I recently received a photo titled
"DL&W X Tower Summit, NJ" attached above, NOW labeled (I re-titled it) as
DL&W X Tower Pocono Summit-however the label on this print it says DL&W RR
"X" TOWER SUMMIT, NJ!! It is actuality Pocono Summit, PA!

This photo had me thinking that I have this same photo in my collection
along with three others which are all attached. The tower was just west of
the Pocono Summit depot, depicted in the attached photo DL&W Pocono Summit
station 1920. All of this confirms that this tower is at Pocono Summit, not
Summit NJ. Does anyone have a Lackawanna tower listing showing X tower? I
believe that this was X Tower (for the X like in crossover) for the
Lackawanna's east slope pushers.

The tower controlled the crossover for the east slope pushers along with the
Pocono Summit wye track, and the junction to the ice house spur at
Stillwater Lake and the connection to the WB&E at Little Summit-see topo map

&state=PA also linked below. Does anyone know what the Lackawanna called
this branch to Stillwater Lake and the WB&E?

Note that this topo map also has the two buildings west of the junction
representing the tower and MofW shanty. Also attached is a shot of 812 with
Miss Phoebe passing the raised concrete pole where the spur and house track
ducked under the pole line. The tower is about next to the 5-6th car of
Phoebe. Another shot: the 811 about to pass the location of the tower. And
last a photo DL 3000 passing Pocono Pond
