Subject: How I Spent My Summer Vacation - Reprise 10
"wash05.jpg" - image/jpeg, 60259 bytes, 563x862 (24bit)

Here is the next in a series of pictures that we took while visiting the southern tier of New
York. Since the Erie and DL&W no longer exist, all we could do is take pictures of the
remaining infrastructure. Some of it is still in use, some not.

The subject of this series of photos is the Erie ROW from the Washington Ave. overpass. This
is north of the Erie Station. Washington Ave. goes over the no longer elevated Erie tracks.
To the north of the overpass is the yard. To the south is the Erie station.

wash01.jpg - This shot is looking north from the overpass into the remains of the yard.
wash02.jpg - This shot zooms further up the line. Beyond where it bends off to the left is
where Eldridge Park used to be.
wash03.jpg - This shot from a different angle reveals some of the contents of the yard.
wash04.jpg - This shot is looking south toward downtown Elmira. You can see the back of the
Erie station on the right of the tracks behind the signal.
wash05.jpg - This shot zooms further in on the station platform. You can see where the
elevated track starts just beyond the station.

More to come...
