I forgot to include a nice history that Bob Bahrs came up with about
Analomink depot:



" The Tiny hamlet of Analomink, ( which was Spragueville up until 1906)
lost it last train stopping on a regular basis in late 1938. For train
#42 by April of 1939, it had become a flag stop. Falling even before it's

little cousin, Henryville four miles up the mountain. Actually only the
end roof line differed the two stations. A couple of trains continued to
have

Analomink as a flag stop. Only train 24 was listed as a F stop and trains
continued to have Analomink as a flag stop, only until Sept of 1940. After
that the quote, " the train doesn't stop here anymore" applied............




Boy, what a sound it must have been for west bounds leaving the station,
cause that curve at the

end of the platform is the very start of the heavy grade. The photo shows
that Analomink

never rated a paved platform, but they did have a common DL&W section
shanty, but with no chimney. It's call letters of WA disappeared between
1929 and 1931. Analomink did have one of the last, if not THE last wood

towers built by the Lackawanna, with only a suspicious date for Chenango

Forks interfering. It was located down at the distant signal bridge seen

in the photo by the signal."

Thanks to all that provided me with photos of Analomink, Pa depot. We ran a
special with the Chairman of the STB on Wednesday, and we stopped at the
platform site of the old Analomink depot to pick up our lunches on board the
Lehigh Valley 353 Business car.



In the color photo taken on Wednesday you can see the break in the railings
hidden partially by the trees, I originally thought someone had broken the
pipe out, but compare it to the 1911 photo and the pipe was left out, to act
as a loading dock?



Also looking at the depot photo off to the right beyond the coal dealer
tower you can make out the signal bridge and a slight image of the Analomink
Tower that was east of the depot and at the west end of the Gravel Place
Yard.
