Pat et all

Attached is a photo of EL 67861 taken in Mahwah May-76. Definitely shorter than the next car. The diagram book shows 67825-67871 series at 15' 2" rail to roof. The EL 92xxx cars are shown as 16' 11". My understanding was that excess height cars had the white band at the top each end like the adjacent car.

Paul,

Well, not so fast. The new cars from ExactRail are a model of an excess-height version of the Greenville 60' double plug door boxcar. I don't believe the EL cars were the excess-height version of this car, and I'm wondering if any of the cars in the Lima-Mahwah Ford motor pool were of the kind that ExactRail is modelling. That was my real question.

ExactRail seems to be concentrating on western prototypes and the cars they are producing apparently appeared in an auto parts train that ran to some Ford assembly plants on the west coast. My question was whether or not any of them made it to the east coast.
