"19800105-003-MurrayHill-PS1.jpg" - image/jpeg, 905x647 (24bit)

My earliest memory of the Lackawanna was home movies of all things. In the
depth of the Great Depression, my parents had a summer house at Lake
Parsippany. On one occasion, they filmed guests arriving by train at Morris
Plains. So growing up in the 40's, that was the film I always wanted to see.

A ride on the old MU's for me was always a treat. What was better sitting by
an open window on a warm summer day as a set raced across the meadows,
slowed down for the bridge, clattered through West End interlocking, then
accelerated into the tunnel with traction motors whining?

The MU's were just always there until one day, they weren't. They are now
gone for 30 years and are but a happy memory.

Attached are some pictures that need no explanation.
