Sorry for this poor microfilm scan, but the photo is interesting. It
looks like a 40' LV box car (one of two) on a siding in Scranton being
unloaded by guys with shovels transferring road salt to a front end
loader for the City Department of Public Works. The siding (EL or D&H
maybe) must be near the city garage on Capouse Ave. Scranton Times
(2-12-66)

It's interesting too that in the mid-sixties there are small customers
whose sidings can't accommodate covered hopper loads. How were these
box cars loaded at the mine? Did they blow the salt in like grain and
did they use wood grain doors?
