MJC asked me to pass along this scan of the November 1937 Railroad Magazine
Emmett Watson cover painting of streamstyled DL&W Pacific 1123.

Back in November of last year there was a discussion of this engine that can
be read at http://www.railfan.net/lists/erielack-digest/201012/msg00007.html

There is a painting of 1123, commissioned by Taber, on page 557 of his "DL&W
in the Twentieth Century - Volume II" for those who have access to it.

I also found another scan of the RR Mag cover at
http://www.philsp.com/data/images/r/railroad_193711.jpg

For those who are interested, I also found the contents of that issue online.
"ar" is article, "cl" is column, "ms" is miscellaneous, "nf" is non-fiction,
"nv" is novelette and "ss" is short story.

> Back in the late 1938 or 39 one the DL&W's semi-streamlined locomotives,
> 4-6-2 #1123, was featured, attached, on the cover of the November (Year???)
> "Railroad Magazine"--I don't have the issue, just the cover, and other than

> running a number of excellent excursions from New York City and the cover
> scene was repeated many times.
> At page 557 of Taber's "DL&W in the twentieth Century--Volume II) is a

> the locomotive. MJC
