Back when it became clear that Conrail did not have anything good in mind
for the Cutoff, I spent the better part of a day at Greendell. I knew a
freight was scheduled (CS9 I suppose) and got there early prepared to wait.
And wait I did. In the meantime I chatted with some kids who found it
amusing that somebody was prepared to wait so long for the train of the day,
and also took a few shots. One of them was of the team track which on this
day (Feb 26, 1977) had two boxcars, one of which was in the process of being
unloaded.

The freight finally did show up with a grungy Penn Central unit in the lead.
While I am glad to have the shot of the train, I dearly wish I had taken
more of the scene on the siding.
