Pat asked me to forward these to the list. Seems that AOL wasn't
cooperating with him. I've quoted the original message below.

Hope Im not saying whats already been said here....

I've been out of the loop a bit, but heres some observations at Port
Morris. If youve heard this stuff already, that is..

I flagged at Port Morris both my relief days this week..Since I
havent been there in quite awhile, I got to see some neat stuff. NJT is
building 2 massive aircraft hangar type buildings and a smaller one in between.

Talked to the Foreman.. One is for Storage of parts etc, one is a
crew locker
room/bathroom and the other, larger building, is a Loco repair facility
of
sorts, with a huge gantry crane that scoots end to end on the ceiling
Beams, like the MU shed had.. The bigger hangar, could easily take in 4
tracks,
but there will only be two, on the south side. The 3 buildings are end
to
end with the crew bldg in the middle. End to end, its about 350+ feet
long.. I took some digital pics...
Even better, and i really hope you get to see this.......

Took my water bottle and went for a walk to the west end of the
construction... Walked around the corner of the new bldg, and went to
take a sip of water.. Halfway thru my gulp, i damn near spit
my water all over the B& B guy next to me.. It was the Turntable pit..

I belted out a healthy, Holy S---!!!! The foreman guy
looked at me like I was insane, and asked me WHAT?? I said, its the
turntable!!
His reply-- "yeah, ok, and??" Uh nothing, I said... He went back inside
and eyes
glazed i was like a kid in a candy store, as I darted over to the pit..

Its half dug out. The North side Looks like brand new.
They ran some sort of drainage culvert next to it, and they tell me,
theyre
going to leave the turntable exposed.. I saw the new plans, and there
are
going to be the 2 leads going into the west shop blgd right about where
the original turntable lead came in next to the roundhouse..I took
several pictures..

Paul, if you want them to post let me know where to send em, as i havent
sent you pics in about 3 years :-)
