Sorry for the cultural reference. I should know better.

I have a photo -- but as it is not mine, and the person who
sent it to me is unsure of the provenance, I am reluctant to
post it here in a public forum. I'm much more sensitive to
nasty comments regarding "That's My Photo and you have no
right . . ." than I am of railfans in doubt.

Yes -- but what replaced them in Saudi Arabia was the same
as what replaced them on the NYS&W -- two railroads,
replacing Stillwells -- with the same replacements -- Budd
coaches with scientifically-ventilated windows (BTW, RDC
fans will note that the demonstrator had some of these same
windows on the ends of the car, because Budd originally was
offering RDC's with Scientifically-Ventilated" features in
lieu of air-conditioning and oops -- despite the pictures,
someone will want verification, but since the DL&W and Erie
didn’t own RDCs I can just tell 'em it's too far OT ).) .

That one's easy, because I have an article with one handy
for a presentation I'm working on titled "Vanderbilt,
Morgan, Mellen and Moses." If it doesn’t run too long, I'll
even include the **other** Erie connection to the NYW&B
(aside from the common interest in Stillwell design ) but
that has to wait until my ducks are in a row -- I'm not
searching all over creation in the files just to scan it for
those who believe I'm fibbing here.

So in the quick scan of a photocopy from the ERA's "Electric
Railroads" Number 31, April 1962, "New York Westchester and
Boston Railway" by Karl Groh, p16 -- is identified as NYW&B
Stillwells in Santa Fe Springs California. I'm going to
suggest that the Maritime Commission used these to transport
workers -- and by transporting workers to and from jobs --
it fits my definition of commuter service.

Cheers,
