Subject: Meadville and Cambridge Springs today, part 1
"DSC_0006_resize.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1600x1067 (24bit)

Folks,

Here are some shots from last weekend's ELHS Annual Symposium in Cambridge Springs, PA. Descriptions are given below by filename.
Lister Ben Bartlett and myself drove the short distance to see what was going on in Meadville, too, so you'll see stuff from both
towns...

DSC_0004: Looking railroad east at Cambridge Springs. The "station" at the left is the trolley station that is currently being
restored. The Erie station was at the right where the car and trees are, but it's long gone. WNY&P provides local service on this
part of the former Erie.

DSC_0006: Turning to the right from the previous photo, we see the famed "half-way" marker.

DSC_0012: Now in Meadville, with the iconic Route 322 fly-over bridge, we see WNY&P C425 #427, the local Meadville switcher.

DSC_0015: Looking railroad west at the yard, we see the yard tower still standing. It's owned by NS, but it's rarely used.

DSC_0016: The Meadville diesel shop, now used by the City of Meadville for their Department of Public Works. Note the staff sticking
out the top of the structure where an Erie and EL logo once perched.

DSC_0021: Looking railroad west from the diesel stop, the remains of the diesel ready tracks in the foreground.

DSC_0022: Railroad east again, and we see where the massive coaling tower once straddled the mains here.

- Paul
