Subject: Meadville and Cambridge Springs today, part 2
"DSC_0039_resize.jpg" - image/jpeg, 1600x1067 (24bit)

DSC_0024: It's like a reunion with a dear old friend! Caboose C356, formerly on the M&E in New Jersey (and used on an excursion
during the ELHS 1999 convention in NJ), the caboose has been donated to the French Creek Valley Railroad Historical Society, which
has this small park just north of the Meadville diesel house.

DSC_0028: Wait, there's an Alco!

DSC_ 0030: The group was able to get the Erie diamond off the coaling tower before it came down, a nice addition to the park.

DSC_0032: The Alco is former Erie S-2 518, repainted black and awaiting its lettering. Nice save!

DSC_0039: Some of the LARGE pieces of machinery that came out of the Meadville shops.

DSC_0044: A classic sign alongside the yard that appears to have been lettered with the stencils the Meadville Shops used for
painting freight equipment.

DSC_0046: Overview of the east (geographic north) end of the yard.

DSC_0049: A former B&LE freight house.

DSC_0052: I'm still confused on whether this is a B&LE or Erie (A&GW) structure, but it's nicely restored as an office park.

DSC_0056: Back in Cambridge Springs, looking east along the main. There was a similar angle in a recent Diamond of an EL train here.

DSC_0061: Partial view of the really cool old dining room at the Riverside Inn, our hotel for the meeting.

Meeting report coming shortly...

- Paul
