Continuing....

0129: We've arrived at the Niagara Frontier Chapter NRHS Museum in North Tonawanda, NY!
0134: An overview of the Museum, which is inside of an NYC freight house. Erie's Niagara Falls Branch ran immediately behind this
structure, paralleling this NYC branch. Sadly, the Museum is landlocked as all the tracks connecting it to the outside world have
been ripped out :(
0135: Carousel horses on poles - a common sight in town, as North Tonawanda was the home of Allan Herschell's carousel factory.
0138, 0146: A rare center cab CLC locomotive last used on the Tonawanda Island RR. One prime mover works, and the Museum was kind
enough to run the unit around on the short stretch of track in front of the freight house. It was neat to see the side rods on the
trucks working!
0167: The interior of their Erie bay-window (C348)
0170: Welcome!
0171: An overview of the site, with the canopy for our lunch.
0172: Erie C348, recently restored on the outside
0176: A good overview looking towards the Museum. Those are the NYC tracks that are visible, and the Erie's Niagara Falls branch was
in that grassy area where the truck is sitting; it paralleled the NYC here.
0177, 0178: About a block behind me in the last shot is Tower EL2. This controlled the crossing of the NYC line and the Erie with
the NYC Fairport Branch. Just odd to see such a substantial tower in a residential area!
0226: The Museum's display on Erie bay-windows
0265, 0267, 0270, 0274: Now we drove back to Buffalo, and we spent some time looking at the former Erie freight house, still in
decent shape and in use!
0276: From right to left: Devan Lawton, John Slater (another Buffalo-area guru) and Jim Guthrie discuss rail operations in this area

More to come....
