Here's a "Treat" for the westender's, I found this neat 1975 newspaper article. It's all about the failed Chessie System takeover of EL trackage around Hornell NY. Neat quotes and stuff, plus a great shot of EL SD45-2 3680 ... one can only imagine the Chssie kitten on the nose and a BIG blue EL under the engineer's window! Imagine what the C-424's and old caboose's would have looked like?
