Subject: Not-so-clear-toy train

Last year I bought quite a few "clear toy" sugar items from a place in PA that makes the sugar items as they used to be and in great old mold shapes. This hefty train was among the items I bought and I left it out all year, still in the cellophane wrapper, on the dining room table. Over the year it apparently absorbed humidity (in spite of the air conditioning) and this 'clear toy' barley sugar train, which originally looked like red glass is now not-so-clear.

In preparing the table for Thanksgiving, I threw all of the other clear toys out, too, but I could not bear to throw this one out. I thought perhaps someone on this list might like it, even if it is not so clear anymore. Would any of you like to have it? I will gladly give it to you (no charge for it or mailing) if you are interested.

The engine is a hefty 2 lbs. 2 oz. and is 9.5" long x 7" high.

If you would like this item, please e-mail me privately (LKRanieri@comcast.net) and in case more than one person replies, I will wait until Sunday afternoon, then throw the names in a hat and have my husband draw one.

In case you would like a shiny new sugar engine for your table, the place from which I ordered it is:

Regennas Candy Shop
120 West Lemon Street
Lititz PA 17543
717-626-2400

They have a modest Web presence at: http://www.clearcandy.com/ and where you can see the train in its original shining glory on the upper left corner of that opening page.

Thanks.
Lynne
