Well, no nit can remain unchallenged....so attached is a scan from G. Best's
reprint of a Dickson Loco Works catalog. It shows a "composite" of the various
Dickson loco works in Scranton.

The building with the tall tower is still standing at the coner of Penn Ave.
and OLive Street. I have indicated with an arrow is at the Steamtown site and
is the present day Trolley Museum.

According to best, the Dickson Works was soon phased out ofter the Fromation
of American Locomtive Company because the ercting shops did not ahve the
overhead clearance to build the larger locomtives then required.

There is no doubt that Dickson City was named after Dickinson, the founder of
the Works. And there may have been some early locos built there, but to say
that the Dicskson Loco Works was in Dickson City is a completley unwarrented
assumption.
