Someone posted L&N diesel locomotive records to ABPR. The scans aparently come from official
L&N records. I have attached the 3 scans relative to the L&N U23B fleet.

Note the reference to "switching steps" on the 2800-series class. It would appear that this
feature is what drove the seperate number series. One class was for road use, the other
better equipped for switching. Were the LV (USRA) U23Bs equipped the same way?

Also note the last 20 units in the 2700-series has some different features (toilet addition
and certain excitation check capabilities) that the rest of the 2700s lacked. Is the brand
of toilet the same used by EL? The SD45-2s would be the closest comaprison, timeframe-wise.

What group more closely matches the LV/USRA specs? Anybody been on the LV units to know?
