Ooops! Grabbed the wrong picture from file - eyesight not what it used to be!

***************
Anyone know what the speed limit(s) was when passenger service still ruled through the Delaware Water Gap and between Slateford Jct. and the river crossing into NJ (old main)? Picture is attached from last week of NS backing towards the Slateford Jct. to interchange there with the D-L.

Thanks!

My ticket stub from the last day of passenger service on the Northern Branch is
dated Sep. 30, 1966.

Timetables at least up to spring, 1965, still show service to Nyack, so the
pull-back to Sparkill must have been between those dates..

Thanks, Bob, for the research and Frank for the repost. I never cease to be
amazed at the extent and complexity of past passenger operations at their
peak, especially the various sleeper interconnections.

Bob, thank you for enlightening us and Frank, thank you for re-posting. For
all railway fans and particularly for those of us who are from the Scranton
area, imagine what it must have been like. Talk about going via train in all
directions.

Anyone know where we can rent a time capsule for the weekend?

Rick

A few years back, I had asked if anyone had photos of EL snow-fighting
equipment in action, and the answer was "no."

My good friend Charlie Berkemeyer lent me a whole pile of B&W negatives he
shot in the late 60s/early 70s, and I came across the attached gems: He
managed to catch Port Jervis-based flanger 414190 being shoved by SDP45 3650
and trailed by caboose C336 on a frigid cold January 11, 1970. The attached
shots show it going past the station platform at Arden, NY, and flying
through Monroe, NY.

Enjoy YOUR winter! :)

Paul,

I have 8mm color movies I took while working at Dover Tower in 1970 of a
former DL&W flanger working west powered by an RS3. As the train was at speed
aprroaching the station, an air hose uncoupled and everything ground to a halt.
The crew recoupoled the hose, got their air and continued operating westbound.
